About This Mac

The Apple Mac Mini Core 2 Duo 2.66 Server released June 15, 2010 is of the Unibody format that is common with the MacBook line of products. It is equipped with Primary Display supports of 1920×1200 and secondary display support of 2560×1600. It also includes a FireWire “800” port and four USB 2.0 ports. Multiple third-party options are available for usage with the Mac Mini. It is a small and affordable device with all the major Mac details and flexibility of customization. The server version of the device is slightly beefier than the consumer version and shipped with Apple’s sever software.

Storage

The device is built with 500.0 GB Serial ATA (3Gb/s) hard drive storage with a storage speed of 7200 RPM. The larger storage abilities are attributed to device being server purposed and thus expected to storage large amounts of files while having quick read and write speeds.

    Screen Size and Resolution

    The Mac Mini supports dual display with resolution support of 1920×1200 and also has a 2nd display support of 2560×1600.

        The Mac Mini has Mac OS X 10.6.4 pre-installed on it. It is powered by a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (P8800) processor which runs alongside the NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics with 256 MB of memory shared with the system.

         

        Memory & Architecture

        The device is built with a 3 MB on-chip level 2 cache with a frontside bus of 1066 MHz and with 4 GB of 1066 MHz PC3-8500 DDR3 its RAM. It’s designed is centered on a 64-Bit architecture.

        Although the Mac Mini comes with 4GB of RAM it can be upgraded to up to 16 GB of RAM. The Operating System of the Mac Mini can also be upgraded from its pre-installed Mac OS X 10.6.4 up to MacOS X 10.12. This Mac Mini is also able to act as a host to Windows XP SP2 (32-Bit) and can support more recent versions such as Windows 7 (64-Bit). This Mac Mini has the following dimensions and weight 36mm×197mm×197mm and weight of 2.8 lbs (1.29 kg). The overall weight of the device is not that important however the small form factor helped set it apart from other devices provided by Apple.
