Apple re-entered into the foray of the sub-notebook category by introducing the MacBook Air in 2008. The PowerBook era had seen the PowerBook 2400c and PowerBook Duo as Apple’s reps in thesub-notebooks category. The first version of the MacBook Air released October 14, 2008 was powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors (SL9300) and accompanied by a 2 GB RAM of onboard 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM with 120 GB SATA (4200 RPM) hard drive packed into a 0.16-0.76 inch body that weights approx. 3 pounds.
