About This Mac

The Apple MacBook Air model, a 13” version, was released midway through 2012.  It comes equipped with a 720p “FaceTime HD” webcam and 4 GB of 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM on the motherboard. The MacBook Air maintained its razor thin design and further reduced the weight from the previous versions down to 2.96 pounds. This device is thin, compact, and is packed with great features.  Specifications and capabilites for the device can be found below. 

Storage

This MacBook Air comes with either 128 or 256 GB SSD of flash storage. There are also configurations that can be equipped with 512 GB of storage.

    Screen Size and Resolution

    This MacBook Air sub-notebook has an 13” widescreen TFT LED-backlit active-matrix glossy display and a 1440 x 900 native resolution. The resolution is high enough to give clear quality images with pixels being barely visible when up close.

      Inclusive Features

      The MacBook Pro includes the following features and ports:

      • AirPort Extreme (802.11a/b/g/n) which allows connection to the best Wi-Fi bands available.
      • A Bluetooth 4.0 for PAN (Personal Area Network) connections and transfers.
      • Two USB 3.0 ports are supplied for the connection of external keyboards, printers, external hard disks etc.
      • One Thunderbolt port that is backward compatible with Mini DisplayPort.

            This MacBook Air comes with a pre-installed MacOS X 10.7.4 (11E2520) and runs on a 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5 (I5-3427U) processor.  It also has an Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics processor that shares 384 MB up to 512 MB of memory with the system.

            Memory & Architecture

            The MacBook Air is equipped with a 32k/32k x2 Level 1 Cache and 256k x2, 3 MB (on chip) Level 2/Level 3 cache. The device runs 4 GB of 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM on board which can be upgraded to 8 GB at the time of purchase.

            Battery Life

            The MacBook Air comes with a 50-watt-hour lithium polymer battery that can provide up to 7 hours of wireless web use.

            This MacBook Air has RAM that can be upgraded from the 4 GB to  8 GB but only at the time of purchase.  The operating system of the MacBook Air can also be upgraded from its pre-installed MacOS X 10.7.4 (11E2520) to current MacOS X.  It can also host Windows 7 (32-Bit) and can accommodate operating systems as recent as Windows 10 (64-Bit).  This MacBook Air is 0.11 – 0.68 in x 12.8 in x 8.94 in and weighs 2.96 lbs (1.35 kg). A very light device with the power to run most daily activities. We do not recommend this device if you intend to do heavy graphical or CPU loads.
