About This Mac

The Mac Mini is the first BYODKM – Bring Your Own Display Keyboard and Mouse device that was created by Apple. It is able to provide a relatively cheap device to people who wanted to experience the feel of a Mac while leaving them in the comfort of personally preferred display and input options from third parties. The price point also makes the device accessible to a wider range of individuals, consider this device as the entry level into the brand. It runs on a 2.53 GHz Intel “Core 2 Duo” (P8700) processor and has a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor installed. It is a convenient means to get the best of all the possible worlds that users could combine.

The device is built with dual 500 GB Serial ATA hard drives storage with a storage speed of 5400 RPM.

    Screen Size and Resolution

    The Mac Mini comes without its own native display but it supports a Single Display of up to 1920×1200 resolution.

          Processor & Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) 

          The Mac Mini has Mac X Server 10.6.1 pre-installed on it. The processor that powered the computer is the 2.53 GHz Intel  “Core 2 Duo” (P8700) processor. Its graphics processor is a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256 MB of memory shared with the system.

           

           

          Memory & Architecture 

          The device is built with a 3 MB on-chip level 2 cache and  4 GB of 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM (PC3-8500) memory. This is centered on a 64-bit architecture.

          Although the Mac Mini comes with  4 GB of RAM it can be upgraded to up to 8 GB of RAM. The Operating System of the Mac Mini can also be upgraded from its pre-installed Mac OS X 10.6 (10A432) up to MacOS X 10.11.x. This Mac Mini has the following dimensions and weight 50.8mm×165.1mm×165.1mm and weight of 2.9 lbs (1.32 kg).
