Battery Condition

Here’s how to check your Mac’s battery health the Techable.com way:

If you’re using macOS Big Sur or later, → open the Apple menu, → select System Preferences, → click Battery, and → choose Battery Health.

If you’re on macOS Catalina or earlier, → hold down the Option key, → click the battery icon in your menu bar, and → view the expanded battery status menu.

Good Battery

The battery condition is "Normal" and retains over 80% capacity.

Fair Battery

The battery condition is either "Replace Soon" or "Check Battery."

Poor Battery

The battery condition shows "Service Battery" or "Replace Now."

Excellent

Pristine, A-grade condition with no visible blemishes, scratches, or signs of use.

Great

Minor signs of wear, such as faint surface scratches. No significant dings, dents, or damage.

Good

Normal signs of use, including small dings or light scratches. May show moderate wear but no major cosmetic damage.

Poor

Heavy wear, including noticeable scratches, dents, or significant cosmetic damage. Clear signs of prolonged use.
